Flexitanks for liquid transport in containers
A flexitank is a large bag that carries liquids inside a 20 ft sea container, replacing drums or IBCs. Delipu Europe produces flexitanks on the DLP-4000, multi-layer in construction and with sealed-in valve technology, for food and non-hazardous chemicals.

What matters here
Twenty tonnes rest on the seam
A filled flexitank weighs as much as the payload of the container. Under braking and in a seaway that mass surges against every seam. Design and seal quality are not comfort features here, they are safety.
The valve is part of the construction
Outlet and filling valve are sealed in, not attached. There is no screwed joint that can work loose in transit.
One journey, no cleaning
The flexitank is a single-use product. Tank cleaning, return of empties and the risk of cross-contamination between two loads all disappear.
Not for dangerous goods, and we say so beforehand
Flexitanks are designed for non-hazardous liquids. For goods under ADR or IMDG this is the wrong packaging. We state that limit before the order, not after it.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a flexitank hold?
- Common sizes range between 16,000 and 24,000 litres in a 20 ft container. The size that works follows from product density and permissible payload and is specified for your route.
Are dangerous goods possible?
- No. Flexitanks are intended for non-hazardous liquids. For goods subject to ADR or IMDG you need approved packaging, which we do not supply.
Does the container need fitting out?
- As a rule yes, at least a front wall restraint. Some shipping lines additionally require approved container models. This is part of the specification and is stated with the quotation.
Rather produce it yourself?
This item is produced in the plant on the machines below. From a stable annual volume, in-house production often pays off — and we supply both.
