Laminate film on the reel
Laminate films combine several layers into a barrier a single film cannot reach. Delipu Europe supplies PET/AL/PE, EVOH and metallised structures on the reel, printed or plain. They are more forgiving to seal than PE mono-material but are not recyclable as a single polymer.

What matters here
Barrier is a question of layers
Aluminium blocks oxygen, light and aroma almost completely; EVOH comes close without the metal layer. Which structure is needed follows from the required shelf life and the sensitivity of the product.
Sealing behaviour is forgiving
Laminates tolerate a wide temperature range before the seam suffers. On machines with conventional continuous heating that is the decisive advantage over pure PE.
The print sits protected inside the laminate
In reverse printing the artwork lies between the layers and is protected against abrasion. For goods that sit on the shelf for weeks, the appearance holds up.
Honest about recyclability
A PET/AL/PE laminate cannot be separated into a single polymer. If recyclability is your goal, mono-material is the right route, and we say so instead of calling both equally good.

Frequently asked questions
Laminate or mono-material?
- Laminate when maximum barrier and long shelf life decide. Mono-material when recyclability and packaging fees matter and the shelf-life requirement allows it. We work both routes through with your figures.
Can you reproduce our existing specification?
- As a rule yes. We need the layer structure, thicknesses and the sealing layer. A sample of the current film speeds the process up considerably.
What are the lead times?
- That depends on structure, printing and volume. Plain standard structures are available considerably faster than a newly created print tool. Both are stated bindingly in the quotation.
